Wondering if our day would ever end yet? We were too. 🙂 This is part 3 and the final chapter of the day we met our son. In Thailand, there is this beautiful festival they celebrate called Loy Krathong. People dream of visiting here this time of year for this sole purpose and we were fortunate enough to have it fall within our visit to Bangkok. We wondered if we should even go out, as tired as we were from an eventful day, but we didn’t want to miss out. We joined up with the other family again when we got back to the hotel and ventured together over to the gorgeous Lumphini Park. As you came to the entrance, there were lots of people selling Krathongs that they had made, so we picked out one to light and take down to the lake. There were hundreds of these little floats all over the water and we sent ours out to join the others (without falling in the lake – yay me). We reminisced about our day, meeting our kids for the first time and it was a really beautiful end to a really wonderful day.
Even after having met him, it still doesn’t feel entirely real, but I am so thankful for a good first day. It went better than we had anticipated and we feel hopeful about the life that we will build together.
