It was a lazy day in Hua Hin and was absolutely what we needed.  Last night, huge storms rolled into the area and I wondered if we might wash out to sea.  The waves were huge and it was hard to distinguish their crashing from the thunder’s.  Amazingly, Ty slept through it all with the exception of his normal bottle wake up time.  How does that happen?  He actually made it until 6:30 this morning, staying in bed, but woke up with tears.  Mornings are still a little rough around here, but I can’t blame him.  We hurried around, thinking breakfast would be a good distraction.  Can you bask in the wonder of raindrops or is that just sunlight?  Either way, it was another rainy morning, and those are good for my heart.  We walked to breakfast with our umbrellas this time and enjoyed another meal on the patio, all to ourselves.

The whole morning was covered in rain showers with giant waves crashing out our front window, so we spent a lot of time inside today.  We were able to catch up with family and friends via facetime, and Ty got another much needed nap in.

Post nap, it was still raining, so we got lots of games in indoors.  We broke out the fishing game which was a huge success, but I had to “catch” the fish and then hand the pole over to Ty at which point, he would proudly show them to Aaron.  There were piggy back rides, coloring, stickers, and Ty tried on the slippers that the hotel provides and paraded around in those a few times.  Also – it looks like “baby fish face IS sweeping the nation”.  Ty doesn’t really get the point of stickers yet, but he likes putting them on his face and was pretty proud of this one.

The rain finally let up around 1:30 and we took the hotel shuttle into town to get some cash to head back to Bangkok tomorrow.  In fantastic news, our bank shut off both of our debit cards so we can no longer use atms – booo.  I told them to just shut down one (Aaron was apparently distracted enough by the fact that he was getting money out of a giant panda that he left his card there).  We have plenty of cash to make it through the next few days, but it’s still annoying.  The rest of our afternoon was spent at the pool and Ty is so much braver than he was even yesterday.  It’s so much fun to just hear him laugh.  We decided to enjoy our last evening in at the hotel, so we ordered room service and ate picnic style on our front porch (incredible meals here too, by the way).  Getting ready for bedtime went smoothly again and Ty is F I N A L L Y willingly brushing his teeth.  Aaron read stories again, and we said goodnight and left Ty to fall asleep on his own after some snuggles.  It’s working surprisingly well.  It’s going to be sad to leave this beautiful place tomorrow, but we are headed back into Bangkok for another 2ish days before we are able to head home.  We are looking forward to being home, but not the going part.  It is a day we have been dreading for 2 1/2 years, so we are just going to enjoy each moment that we have left and not think about it.  🙂

Random note #1: Ty said “plane” and “funny” in English today.  Fairly sure that I got a “dad” out of him too, but not 100% on that one.

Random note #2 : There was a lizard in my trash can this morning that scurried out when I threw Ty’s pull up in.  Freaked me out a little bit, but they are kind of cute.  🙂
