I (Aaron) am a roller coaster junkie! I have loved them since I was tall enough to ride. My first coaster was on the Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Virginia. I grew up only 45 minutes from Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH, and I’m pretty sure I’ve been there over 100 times. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience when it comes to the ins and outs of amusement parks; particularly Cedar Point and King’s Island.

The worst part of any trip to the amusement park is waiting in line. Who wants to just stand there for hours for a ride that lasts 2 minutes and 30 seconds? What would you say if I told you that you don’t have to!?

I visited King’s Island just last week on May 3rd with my wife’s cousin (We often go together since our wives don’t do rides). Together, we each fit in 17 rides on 10 different coasters. Our total wait time? 1.5 hours!!!! That’s it! Just so you understand what I’m telling you, that’s 1.5 hours of waiting for EVERYTHING we rode. It’s not unusual to wait that long for a single ride. At least 10 of those rides we literally walked right onto the ride without waiting at all.

This was not accidental. So, what’s the key to ensuring you only have to wait minutes rather than hours? It’s all about going early when schools are still in session before year’s end. Most of the park goers were students visiting with their physics or math classes. We also received some help in the form of rain. It rained the entire morning, but the great part is that it helped keep people away. However, it didn’t prevent the rides from operating, so apart from getting a bit wet, we fit in as many rides as we could handle.

If you don’t like to wait in lines, then go when schools are still in session. That’s it. It will change your life! Fair warning though… You will get spoiled and find yourself complaining when you do end up having to wait 15 minutes after the park traffic increases a bit.
